Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.
In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' latest record, the new release, is out on Friday.
Football and Family Experiences
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.
"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's sole on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.
My son advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.
However I am not do that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
