“That was unfortunate. It was essentially an exchange with our fans out in front of us,” Jones explained during a radio appearance. “There was a large group of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was filled with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further clarified that the gesture was completely unintentional, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I just put up the incorrect digit,” he remarked. “It was accidentally done. This is sincere. Should you call it unplanned, you can. However, it got resolved rapidly.”
