Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A plane carrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the jet's front window, per an announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet touched down based on standard procedures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson stated in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the Belgian capital at the time.
This incident isn't the first time that a US military aircraft carrying a top government figure has experienced equipment failures.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was forced to turn back to the US capital after suffering a mechanical fault.
